IGL Ecocoat Fabric – Fabric & Textile Protection Coating

IGL Ecocoat Fabric is a water-based, zero-VOC protective coating designed to create an invisible hydrophobic barrier around individual textile fibres.

The coating helps repel water, spills, dirt and staining while allowing the material to retain its original colour, softness and breathability.

Suitable for automotive interiors as well as household and lifestyle applications, Ecocoat Fabric can be used on seats, carpets, floor mats, fabric convertible roofs, shoes, upholstery and other porous textile surfaces.

Always test an inconspicuous area first.

APPLICATION

1. Thoroughly clean the material before coating.

2. Allow the fabric to dry completely.

3. Shake Ecocoat Fabric before use.

4. Spray an even layer across the surface from approximately 30cm away.

5. Apply enough product to dampen the fibres without unnecessarily saturating the material.

6. Lightly work the product into the material where required.

7. Allow the coating to dry undisturbed.

For maximum performance, allow approximately 24 hours for the full hydrophobic effect to develop before exposing the material to water or heavy use.

HIGH-EXPOSURE AREAS

A second light application can be used on areas exposed to frequent spills or heavy use.

Does Ecocoat Fabric make material stiff?

No. IGL designed the coating to remain breathable and retain the original softness and feel of the textile.

Does it change the colour of fabric?

It is designed to dry transparent without altering the original appearance. Test first on unusual or delicate materials.

Can it be used on Alcantara or suede?

IGL lists suede and porous textile-type materials among its applications. Always test first.

Can it be used on leather?

Ecocoat Fabric is suitable for porous or aniline leather. For conventional treated automotive leather, use a product specifically designed for treated leather.

How long does the protection last?

IGL states up to 12 months, although actual longevity will depend on surface use, abrasion, cleaning and application.

Can I use the seat immediately after application?

No. Allow the coating to dry and cure properly before use or exposure to liquids.
