Trick your exhaust valve actuators into thinking they’re attached to the muffler so you can run any non-valved exhaust you like without the car going into limp mode.
AVOIDING LIMP MODE
The AM6xx Vantage (2018+) has exhaust valve actuators that cycle the butterfly valves (flappers) through their range of motion on start-up. If they do not find the correct range of motion, the car goes into reduced power mode. The factory muffler’s butterfly valves are notorious for becoming seized over time. Since they’re built into the muffler, it requires complete muffler replacement. These delete boxes allow you to run any aftermarket or custom exhaust without valves, or you can tack the OEM muffler’s valves open or closed and avoid replacing the muffler when the valves seize up.
HOW THEY WORK
Our flapper delete boxes simulate the motion of the factory butterfly valves. The flapper actuators are removed from the muffler and instead bolted to the delete boxes. The boxes are tucked neatly away on brackets that attach to the rear subframe.
